GSP benefits have been back in place for two months, though companies continue to wait for refunds of tariffs paid during the expiration.

The map below shows the overall value of imports claiming GSP (in blue) and eventual tax savings (in red) by state from the first four months of 2018. Nearly all of these taxes upfront were paid due to expiration, but are now eligible for refunds. Any imports claiming GSP in May or beyond should not have been subject to tariffs.

While GSP has been renewed through 2020, we encourage GSP program users to sign up for the free GSP Supporter List to receive periodic updates on such issues such as refunds and the Annual Review process.
