At various times in 2018, the Trump administration launched country eligibility reviews of GSP benefits for India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Thailand, and most recently Turkey.

The reviews could result in the permanent loss of all GSP benefits for imports from those countries with as little as 60 days notice. The Trade Partnership, which runs the Coalition for GSP, launched the GSP Action Committee to participate in the reviews on behalf of American companies, workers, and consumers. The Action Committee testified at hearings in June on the U.S. benefits of continued GSP treatment for India, Indonesia, and Thailand – and plans to participate in the future review for Turkey.
