The GSP program expired on December 31, 2017. Companies must now pay $2.5-$3 million per day in higher import taxes until Congress passes – and the President signs – legislation extending the GSP program. Companies may receive refunds of tariffs paid only if Congress passes a “retroactive” renewal.

It is critical to have organizations in as many states and congressional districts as possible supporting GSP renewal. There is no better way to demonstrate the importance of GSP to Members of Congress than to highlight constituents. Supporter list inclusion is free to ensure companies are not prevented from showing their support for financial reasons.
