Thank you for signing onto the GSP Supporter List for 2021. The Coalition’s greatest strength is highlighting constituents that benefit from – or are harmed by expiration of – the GSP program. We could not do that without information from program users like you.

I hope you will reconsider paid membership in the Coalition for GSP. Constituent stories are necessary but not sufficient for an effective lobbying effort: we need the financial resources to spread the message and advocate for a robust GSP program.

Join the Coalition for GSP

The GSP program will expire on December 31, 2020 and GSP importers will face nearly $3 million per day in new tariffs starting January 1, 2021. Help the Coalition for GSP advocate for swift, retroactive renewal of the GSP program by joining the Coalition today.

The Coalition for GSP is the only organization solely dedicated to promoting the benefits of the GSP program to American companies, workers, and consumers. We conduct in-depth research on GSP impacts for the United States as a whole, individual states and congressional districts, as well as specific companies that is used to educate policymakers and other stakeholders on the importance of GSP. This research is not available from any other government or private sources.

With GSP expiring in the middle of both a recession and a global pandemic, it is more important than ever to inform Members of Congress of the harm caused by the GSP lapse.

But we cannot do it without the financial support of companies that benefit directly from the tariffs savings from GSP and are forced to pay tariffs during the lapse. Dues are based on company employment and GSP savings, making them affordable for organizations of all sizes. As a result, small businesses form the backbone of the GSP Coalition: our typical member company employs 20 workers and saves between $100,000 and $200,000 annually due to GSP.

The Coalition promotes its members interests in Administration country eligibility reviews. For example, while GSP benefits were terminated for approximately half of U.S. imports from Thailand, less than 5% of benefits were terminated for products imported by Coalition members.

Whether related to Congressional or Administration actions, Coalition membership ensures that your organization remains fully informed – with information not available from any other sources – of the latest developments that could impact your business.

You can stay informed and help create the best possible environment for future GSP renewals by joining the Coalition for GSP in one of the following ways:
